Sea Scout Zero Airship on the after flight deck of HMS FURIOUS

This picture shows the Navy experimenting with ways of using balloons to help with reconnaissance and support of fleet actions. The picture was taken in 1918 and uses the Sea Scout Zero Airships which were based at RNAS Laira and RNAS Mullion.
