R.M.S. Karanja

Royal Mail Ship Karanja, and her sister ships Kampala, were British India Steamship Company who had been delivering mail throughout the Indian Ocean area since the first half of the Nineteenth Century. This effective subsidy from the British government allowed BISN ships to offer more competitive rates to ship cargo and passengers around the Empire.
