The Sani Pass

The Sani Pass is the highest Pass (over 9,400 ft) that crosses the Drakensberg Mountains on the border between Basutoland and South Africa. In 1957 it was still a narrow bridle path used by pack animals for bringing up supplies to Mokhotlong, the District H.Q. Today it is a metalled road used by tourists visiting the Maluti Mountains.
