The 1606 Union Flag

The House of Stuart experimented with a joint flag for the two combined kingdoms over a Century before the Act of Union. This flag combined the Cross of St George with the Cross of St Andrew. In 1801, the Cross of St Patrick was added to make the modern day flag of Britain.
