Drake Sees Two Oceans

This print is an artist's representation of what Drake may have seen. He is the first Englishman to see the Pacific in one direction and the Caribbean in the opposite one. This account convinced English mariners that there must be a link between the two oceans and was a prime reason for his 1577 - 1580 voyage of exploration.
