Captain Ludlow of the 12th Bengal Native Infantry provided the drawings for a series of prints giving a vivid glimpse into military life of the Bengal army on the march. The Light Cavalry can be seen on the first and third rows, as well as some officers on the fourth row. The soldiers with a red mane on their helmets are Horse Artillery. The infantry are shown on the second row with a gunner spiking an enemy gun. The fourth row shows Indian men of low caste carrying a palanquin with, probably, a sick officer inside. Behind them is a staff officer, perhaps a general officer, escorted by two troopers.
