Light Troop 1756

This illustration by Orlando Norie of light troop privates of the 10th dragoons is based on the description in the Warrant issued on 14 April 1756. He has based the caps on those worn by other light cavalry Troops at the time. The red plume is probably conjecture as it is not mentioned. The coat tails are still long at this stage, although the light infantry of this period generally had shorter coats. The carbines were slung from the shoulder belt with a ring and bar. The central figure appears to be re-loading his carbine, his raised hand holding the ram-rod.
