Captain the Hon Arthur Annesley


The Hon Arthur Annesley was born on 24 Aug 1880, the eldest son of the 11th Viscount Valentia, a well-known officer of the 10th Hussars. He also joined the 10th Hussars on 4 Apr 1900 as a 2nd lieutenant, promoted to lieutenant on 16 Nov 1901 and captain on 6 Apr 1907. He fought in the Boer War. He was appointed ADC to Maj-General Byng in Egypt on 8 Nov 1912. but was killed by a sniper at Zillebeke on 16 Nov 1914 at the age of 34.
