Incident at Futtehabad

The Illustrated London News produced this illustration of the incident on 2 April 1879 where Captain Manners Wood was struck down but saved by Lieutenant Fisher, at the battle of Futtehabad in Afghanistan. The caption says that the print was based on a sketch supplied by Lieutenant Hon James Pearse Napier, son of Lord Napier of Magdala, an officer of the 10th Hussars. Capt Wood is incorrectly shown as having gold braid on his sleeves.
