Regimental Pattern Sword

The Prince of Wales issued swords to all the officers of the 10th Hussars c1809. It was basically light cavalry pattern with etched blade and gilded brass hilt that had the Prince of Wales feathers badge in silver metal on a gilded brass mount that protruded over the mouth of the scabbard when sheathed. This can be seen in the portrait of Sir Bellingham Graham 1810. The swords were taken back when officers transferred to other regiments as in the case of the Elegant Extracts in 1814.
