Prince of Wales 1795

This miniature by Edmund Scott of the Prince of Wales, shows the uniform worn by the 10th Light Dragoons towards the end of 1795. Scott painted all the officers, and 18 miniatures exist, two of which are depicted on this page, as copies. The Prince has made a change to the helmet in the leopardskin turban and the white over red plume. This was adopted by the other officers in 1796. He has the silver fringed epaulettes, with feathers badge on the end of the shoulder, and the extra line of silver lace on his collar for the more senior officers.
