Officer’s Belt Plate c1792

This enlarged detail is taken from a portrait of the Prince of Wales. The colour of the metal cannot be determined from this monochrome copy. It is probably all silver but a similar design in an officer’s portrait of 1796 shows a silver plate with blue enamelling and gilt wreath and crown.
