The silver front of this pouch is hallmarked Birmingham 1897 and was made by Jennens & Co. The gilt badge on the front dates from 1886 when the regiment became Lancers. The crossed lances have a scroll with the battle honour AFGHANISTAN 1879-80. The pouch itself is black leather with gold bullion lines.
