The back of the French grey dress jacket is not often seen but had elaborate silver braid and lace covering the back seams. The top of each seam ended with three fern-like flourishes. There were also lace and braid decorations under the arms just above the waist. Braiding also traced the lace edge along the hem. The shoulder straps were formed from thicker silver braid, ending in a short plait at the point of the shoulder. The collar and cuffs are deep orange with silver braid loops tracing the lace edge. The buttons are marked with a 1 and LESWAREE. The lower 4 buttons are missing. They may have been removed to improve the look of the gold and red girdle that covered the lower part of the jacket.
