Storming Fort Erie

A painting by Edward C Watmough, an American 19th century artist, shows the British infantry storming the northeast bastion of Fort Erie on the night of 14 Aug 1814. The assault came to a calamitous end when prepared mines were exploded and the Americans beat off the British attack.
