Drum Banner, Post-WW1

The Victorian drum banner of the 20th Hussars was retained and used beyond World War One as can be seen here in this exhibit at the regimental museum in Preston. The battle honours for the Great War have been added, as well as the honour for the Boer War. Ten emblazoned battle honours for the war have been placed around the central design with the pre-war honours, making seven on each side. Close inspection of the photo reveals a slight colour difference where VIMIERA and SUAKIN 1885 have been removed, and a new spray of oak leaves was embroidered over the space where PENINSULA used to be.
