Farrier and Trumpeter Helmet Badges 1792 - 1802

The farriers and trumpeters of light dragoons serving in the UK normally had fur caps but for regiments like the 20th Jamaica Light Dragoons posted to a hot climate the farriers and trumpeters had the same tin helmets as the rest of the men, although they had these special badges to denote their occupation. These drawings are copied from contemporary drawings in a Hawkes pattern book.
