The badge adopted by the regiment after amalgamation with the 4th Cavalry in 1922 had the distinctive four crossed lances of the 2nd Lancers with the lion of the 4th Cavalry. The 4th were granted an Honorary Standard for service in Scinde in 1844, with the device ‘a lion passant regardant’ i.e. a walking lion with head turned.
