Sergeant Danny Williamson posed for this photo published in British Army Badges by Lt-Col Robin Hodges (2005). He has trews instead of a kilt, because this is the ceremonial dress on Fridays. The book tells us that the reason for this anomaly is that the kilts are laundered on Fridays. While the kilts are in the sett of Gordons tartan, the trews are Seaforth. They are worn with black brogues. The sergeant does not wear a red sash as had been the custom for sergeants prior to the 21st century.
