Captain Barry MacMaster wears No.1A Dress ceremonial, a dark green doublet which has Inverness skirts which are buttoned and braided like the cuffs, and having embroidered Hindoostan Tiger collar badges and black and gold plaited shoulder cords showing three embroidered stars on each. With this he has a crimson silk sash on his left shoulder and a white shoulder-belt on his right shoulder to support his broadsword sheathed in a white metal scabbard. His waist-belt has a rectangular gilt clasp bearing the St Andrew badge of the Cameron Highlanders.The shoulder-belt plate and the badge on his sporran are both badges of the former Gordon Highlanders.
On the right is Lieutenant Tom Walker wearing No.2A Service Dress. This order of dress is worn by the Orderly Officer of the Day, also for some ceremonial occasions. The khaki service dress jacket is almost identical to that worn by Highland officers in 1914. His rank is shown as metal badges on his shoulder straps, in the case of a lieutenant, two stars, or ‘pips’. The kilt is in the Gordons tartan. If he wore trews they would be in Seaforth MacKenzie tartan and that would be No.2B Dress. His brown leather Sam Browne belt supports his broadsword sheathed in a leather-bound scabbard.
