Queen’s Own Highlanders Belt Plate 1961-94

The badge of the Queen’s Own Highlanders incorporates the stag’s head and motto of the Seaforth Highlanders and the crowned thistle of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. These symbols are in silver, attached to a frosted gilt pate fixed on the white leather shoulder belt worn by officers in No.1 Dress. The Seaforths and Camerons amalgamated in February 1961 and the regiment further amalgamated with the Gordon Highlanders in September 1994, from which date the belt plate was changed to one bearing the badge of the Gordons.
