9th Lancers

Officers, Various Orders of Dress, 1874

The seated officer wears a patrol jacket which is blue, with wide flat black mohair braiding. It has fold-down lapels that reveal a stable jacket underneath. Behind him is an officer in a frock-coat which is also blue with black braid, but fastens to the neck. The officer on the right is in dress uniform with a crown badge on his collar as he is a lieutenant. The other three officers are in mounted stable dress which has a sword and sabretache suspended from a hidden waist-belt. They all have blue breeches with a double gold lace stripe, and, apart from the officer in dress uniform, they have gold laced forage caps.
