Battle of Ferozeshah

H Martens made the drawing for this aquatint from a sketch by Major G F White. It depicts the second day of the battle of Ferozeshah with the British infantry sweeping into the Sikh camp. The regiment must be the 62nd as they are wearing jackets with buff facings, and the Colours are for a buff faced regiment. The men in the forground are light company men, having no pack on their backs and they are not in ranks like the battalion companies. They also have different coloured cap bands on their undress forage caps.
