Flying over the Battlefield Outside Port Stanley


This painting by Charles David Cobb illustrates the workhorse nature of the helicopters at the disposal of the British. Many of its heavy lift helicopters were destroyed with the Atlantic Conveyor. That meant that the remaining medium and small helicopters were in constant use moving guns, supplies and wounded backwards and forwards from the front-line to rear operating bases.
