HMS Hermes

HMS Hermes had to be rapidly called back into service. The Government of the day claimed that it could not foresee a situation where they would need to use military power away from existing air assets. They had to quickly eat humble pie and recall the scrapped HMS Hermes and HMS Invincible which had been sold to the Australians.
