Grytviken, South Georgia

This painting by Charles David Cobb actually shows the British preparing to return towards Britain after the successful conclusion of the conflict. The painting is dated to the 28 June 1982 but it still nicely shows the value of the natural harbour in South Georgia in the otherwise treacherous South Atlantic Seas. The ships appear to be the British troopships, Canberra and the QE2.
