13th Hussars

Lieutenant Baggallay 1901

Sabretaches were abolished a year after this photo was taken. His busby is the final version, lower than Captain Innes's and with a longer bag. The badges of rank are on his shoulder cords instead of his collar. The plain Austrian knot on his sleeve shows that he is a lieutenant; the elaborate decoration denoting a field officer can be seen in the coloured photo of Baden-Powell.
