Officer's Horse, c1850

The shabraque is crimson with elaborate embroidery on the hind quarters and a broad gold lace border with a blue edge. On the right of the picture a mounted private is holding the bridle. His shabraque is similar except for the yellow wool embroidery instead of gold. The officer's bridle is ornamented with gilt bosses and a crimsom throat plume.
