Officer's Helmet c1766


An example of an officer's helmet with the King's Light Dragoon badge on the front peak. See Helmet Badge 1766 The turban is blue to match the facings and had two tails of the same material, ending in silver tassels. The silvered crest with the head of Medusa on the front, has a red horse-hair mane. The helmet is made of copper and blackened with japanning. The badge was silvered all over apart from the crown which has red cushions.
