Trooper in Review Order, c1895

This group of Canadian troops shows a trooper of the Royal Canadian Dragoons mounted (right) with a white cloth-covered, brass-spiked helmet. He carries a lance and is dressed in scarlet tunic with blue collar and cuffs. There is yellow braid on the collar and cuffs in the style of British dragoons. His belts are all brown leather as are his gauntlets. Breeches are blue with yellow stripe and boots are black knee boots. He is also armed with a carbine and sword. The other Canadian soldiers in this picture are, mounted on the left, a constable of the NWMP, and standing, from the left, a private of the Royal Canadian Regiment, an officer of the 2nd Queen's Own Rifles and an officer of the 5th Royal Scots.
