Staff Sergeant in Undress, 1879

The pillbox cap for this senior NCO is similar to the officer's but has less braid on top and does not have the gold braid around the top edge. He wears a full dress tunic with lace and braid sleeve decoration in gold, gold cord twists on his shoulders and gold lace on the collar. His four rank chevrons are on each sleeve with crown above. He has a binoculars case on his back and his sword is suspended from a waistbelt worn beneath his tunic.
