Trooper in Full Dress, 1909

When the regiment was re-raised in 1909 a smarter full dress was required and this style was adopted. The stetson was retained but the khaki was replaced by a scarlet tunic with green collar and chain-mail shoulders with brass titles. There were no hip pockets but only buttoned breast pockets. In dismounted order, the blue overalls with yellow stripe were worn, but mounted the blue breeches were worn with black Strathcona boots. This uniform was short lived because in 1911 the brass helmet was introduced. Drawing by A E Haswell Miller.
