Corps of Guides

Sowar, Sepoy and Havildar, 1905

The mounted sowar has a long kurta that almost reaches his knees. His sword is strangely on his right side. The infantrymen have much shorter kurtas and wear gaiters on their calves, the taller sepoy having sandals and the shorter havildar from the Gurkha company having native shoes.
