The 11th were famous for being the last Indian regiment to adopt khaki, retaining the blue kurta until 1891 for ctive service. The sowar here is in full dress, with blue kurta. The garment is collarless so the red facings are only apparent as a lining to the silver chain-mail shoulder straps.
