1st Sikh Infantry

British and Indian Officers, 1880

At this time the Indian Officers wore very plain uniforms compared with the British officers. The brown leather pouchbelts have silver fittings for the British but are plain for the Indian officers. The Indian NCOs, however have white metal whistles and chains under their red sashes. A musician sits front right.
