125th Napier's Rifles

Officer, 1939

This is Subadar-Major Rahim Ali, Bahadur OBI IOM who was posted to England between April and August 1939 as King's Indian Orderly Officer. The uniform adopted by the 6th Rajputana Rifles was similar to that worn by the 125th Napiers. The pouchbelt is brown which is unusual as rifle green tunics were normally worn with black patent leather belts. The gold aiguillettes were worn only while performing the duty of King's Indian Orderly Officer.
