96th Berar Infantry

Sepoy, 1908

The Berar infantry differed from the other Hyderabad regiments in the colour of the turban which was a distinctive green and yellow stripe instead of plain dark green. This man is a jat. His kurta is scarlet with green piping round the edge of his collar, shoulder straps, down the front and along the edge of his pointed cuff. The waist sash is green with yellow stripes. He wears gaiters instead of puttees.
