The Light Dragoons

Corporal, No1 Dress c2004

Corporal Howard is in no1 dress with the full buff collar of the 13th Hussars instead of the flashes that were at first worn on the front of the collar. The shoulder chains of other ranks are of the rectangular type and do not have regimental titles. The white pouchbelt has been restored for all ranks whereas the photo of Princess Diana inspecting the regiment in 1995 shows them to be wearing a white waist-belt. The pouch-belt had not been worn by other ranks, apart from trumpeters and the band, since 1902. His rank badges are in gold lace on scarlet cloth and he has the NCO's wire-embroidered badge of the Royal Crest above and the crossed rifles skill-at-arms instructor badge below that. Staff Sergeants wear an embroidered crown badge above the Royal Crest.
