Captain Michael Lakin, 1914

During the battle of Messines, Captain M L Lakin commanded 'C' Squadron. He led an attack along with the 5th Dragoon Guards and 57th Wilde's Rifles against a trench that had been taken by the Germans. Lakin joined the regiment in Egypt in 1900 and was a star polo player for the regimental team. He is seen here in full dress as a Lieutenant.
