Stuart Watson

Diana, Princess of Wales, as she then was, became Colonel-in-Chief of the 13th/18th Hussars in 1989. She had already met the regiment as we see here in this photo of her with the Colonel of the regiment, Major-General Stuart Watson at the 1987 Guidon Parade. Watson fought in World War II and went ashore with the 13th/18th on D-Day. He was appointed Colonel of the regiment in 1979 and retired in 1990.
