This is a rare early photo of a drumhorse. The drummer wears the light dragoon shako and five rows of braid on his tunic. The shabracque is the light dragoon pattern with rounded corners. The drum banner is the blue velvet pattern that lasted until the 1890s (see blue drumbanner).
