Mounted Officer 1900

The uniform in this print is little different from the one worn by Lt-Col Hamilton. The collar badges are prominent here and it is clear that only officers had them. As well as the haversack, he has a water-bottle on his right shoulder. All leather is brown including his double-strapped Sam Browne belt. He has a leather sword scabbard and sword knot. His Stowasser boots could be interchanged with puttees as worn by the rank and file. He is armed with a Webley pistol and cavalry sword. On his saddle near side is a coiled tethering rope and a rolled canvas bag for feeding his horse.
