General John William Egerton, 7th Earl of Bridgewater

The distinctive face of John Egerton gives him the appearance more of a clergyman than a soldier. In fact he was the son of the Bishop of Durham, born on 14 April 1753, and grandson of the Bishop of Hereford. The family home was at Ashridge House. The print of the Earl was made in 1805 by H Edridge and shows him in the uniform of the 14th Light Dragoons.
