5th Dragoon Guards

Band 1912

The drum banners and trumpet banner are displayed in the middle of this group photo. The bandmaster sits on one side in an old style officer's frockcoat with broad black silk lace across the front. He has a gold embroidered band badge on his right forearm. They all have blue forage caps with green cap-bands, except for the two youngsters at the front who are wearing khaki caps and service dress. The two senior NCOs who are seated near the drums have plaited yellow cord on each shoulder. One is the trumpet-major next to the band-master, the other is a band sergeant with a clarinet.
