5th Dragoon Guards


2nd Lieutenant C S Platt


Cecil Sherman Platt died of enteric fever on 5th Jan 1900. He was born in Aug 1877, educated at Eton and entered the 5th Dragoon Guards in Nov 1898. He travelled with the regiment from India in Sep 1899 and served in Natal and Ladysmith. He is buried at Intombi Military Cemetery. His Queen's South Africa medal sold for 805 pounds at Spink in London in 1999.
