5th Dragoon Guards


Royal Standard 1823


The Royal Standard was always of crimson damask while the regimental standards were of the facing colour. The central device is a rose, thistle and shamrock conjoined, with the Hanoverian crown above, and the royal motto below. The regimental motto is below that, and the four Peninsula battle honours flank the central device.
