| The guidon was not officially discontinued until 1844 but this standard proves that the 5th Dragoon Guards had decided to ignore the order to carry the swallow-tailed dragoon flag. It is of green damask to match the regimental facings. The number 3 at the base of the flag is for the 3rd Squadron. The central device is the cypher of Princess Charlotte inside a circle with the regimental title, and her coronet above instead of the royal crown. |
