Trumpeter c1895

The young trumpeter in this photo is wearing the dress tunic which has 8 visible large buttons down the front. The black velvet facings are clearly defined on the collar, cuff and shoulder straps. The 7DG can be seen, embroidered in yellow on the shoulder strap, this being edged with yellow piping as are the collar and cuff, with the braid forming an Austrian knot above the cuff. Down the front edge of the tunic is a line of black piping.

The trumpeters' badge on his upper arm is embroidered in yellow. The waist-belt is fastened with a different clasp from the usual snake type. He has the old style rectangular brass plate with the coronet and PRDG cypher.
