7th Dragoons

Map of Lauffeldt

The battle has different names according to which history it comes from. It has been known as Val, Vol, Keselt, Latal and Laffeldt, Lauffeld or Lauffeldt. This map was published in the 1914 edition of The 7th Queen's Own Hussars by CRB Barrett. The Austrians were on the right of the line and were not engaged in this battle. The Dutch were in the middle and the British and German troops were placed near the village of Lauffeldt itself where most of the action took place.
