7th Hussars

Officer's Dress Pouchbelt, 7th Hussars

This pattern of pouch and belt was used from about 1830 onwards in the 7th Hussars, and even further back in time, but with a different cypher. The fine scarlet cloth pouch is embroidered with the QO cypher and Queen Caroline's coronet (after 1901 with the King's crown). The pattern of the distinctive buckle, tip and slide was used on the undress brown leather pouch belt of the Queen's Own Hussars post-1958. The gold lace covered the red leather pouch belt and there were no ornaments worn on the front. Senior officers of the QOH wore this belt or the 3rd Hussars type in no.1 dress.
